I am a visual artist and poet whose works explore love and connection, as well as social commentary  In my Metaphorical Relationships collection, I explore the inter-relationship between abstract form and shape - how form speaks to other forms, how they intertwine and engage - how you cannot have one without the other.  These works are paired with love poems.  These artworks bring bright positive energy with their bold colored backgrounds while adding visual interest in a calm and minimalist way.

In my Artica - Feminist Artworks, I pose the question Is this how the patriarch sees me?  This body of work is about female empowerment, either protesting the roles that bind women or otherwise fully claiming them. These works are signed with my artist alter ego name, Artica.

In this body of the work, I pose the question Is this how the patriarch sees me?  Each of the words I use in the paintings reflect a message about how the patriarch puts women in these roles, or sees her as these things.  I also play on the words and the various meanings associated with them.  These paintings are an exploration of social commentary and feminist politics with a punk attitude.  Not only am I posing the question Is this how the patriarch sees me but I’m also asking Is this how I see myself?  Through this questioning I decide what I claim, what I do not, and what I will take back and make my own.
